Introduction
The COVID-19 pandemic had a profound impact on communities worldwide, with one of the most significant disruptions affecting children’s education.
In response, we partnered with 2K Foundations to provide critical resources and access, ensuring that underserved communities had the support they needed, both in education and in staying connected to the game they love.
What We Did
Providing Technology Solutions For Distanced Learning
As schools shut down and in-person learning came to a halt, students—particularly those in underserved areas—faced unprecedented challenges in accessing educational resources. At the same time, basketball courts and recreational facilities remained closed, limiting opportunities for physical activity, mentorship, and community engagement.
Recognizing the urgent need to support these communities, we worked with 2K Foundations to help bridge the gap. Our mission was clear: provide resources, technology, and access to ensure that young students could continue learning, despite the challenges of the pandemic. With this in mind, we launched our distanced learning approach, an initiative designed to empower students through digital education, while also maintaining the spirit of basketball and community engagement in a safe and meaningful way.
Through our partnership with Microsoft and Apple, we provided over 200 iPads to organizations across the country, implementing an educational program to help bridge the digital divide and ensure every child had access to the educational resources they needed to thrive during this unprecedented time.
The most important factor for this community give back program was to give at the speed of need.
