Introduction
Timberland is enlisting the next generation in its commitment to protect the environment.
NRG helped them deliver the message straight to the heart of college campuses through a mobile marketing tour.
Not only did we spread sustainability, but we also made dorm rooms in the northeast a lot less bleak. College students left with a happy little plant to green up their space, inspiration to live more sustainably, and a discount on new Timberland gear.
It was a win for Mother Nature, Timberland, and a new era of informed citizens.
What We Did
Green My Dorm!
Some might say college students tend to be a little green. We say that’s a good thing. Timberland– which has planted over 10 million trees since 2001 and committed to planting 50 million more over the next 5 years– knows the success of their sustainability goals depends on the support and engagement of this up-and-coming consumer. So, they turned to NRG to support their “Nature Needs Heroes” campaign and drum up brand awareness via a Mother Nature approved mobile marketing tour.
We rolled out a custom mobile greenhouse– branded the Timber Truck– traversing New York and Boston to educate the collegiate community about sustainability. Students received information on how to “green their dorm” and were encouraged to take an online pledge to be more environmentally-friendly.
