What We Did
World Class Court From A World Class Player
Saint Louis native Jayson Tatum brought love to his hometown, providing the local Boys and Girls Club with a refurbished basketball court and new sports equipment. The big unveiling had special meaning for Tatum, as the Mathews-Dickey Boys and Girls Club was where he grew up playing basketball. It also happened to be home of his first dunked ball in a game. Kids were thrilled to see the new court and equally thrilled when the Olympic Gold Medalist himself made a surprise appearance to greet them.
The renovation provided a much needed boost to the community, which has a shortage of recreational facilities. As part of the upgrade, the court was sanded, refinished, and completed with new artwork designed with Tatum in mind. NRG worked to ensure the walls were cleaned, paint touched-up and nets updated. Additionally, the youth basketball program was provided with new basketballs, ball pumps, cones, and racks so kids in the community had access to the sport.
